Course Aims:
To provide an overview of the role of the local, national and international broadcast media in reporting on major emergencies and disasters, and the positive steps that can be taken to reduce the disruptive elements of an overwhelming media response.

This course will be of interest to government officials, police forces, press officers, media spokespersons and those with responsibility for working with, managing and responding to requests for information from the media during the response to a major emergency and its aftermath.
