Introduction to Airside Operations
The Introduction to Airside Operations is an entry level course expected to provide the learners with essential awareness and broad understanding of airside operations. The 5 day course is a well-balanced mix of theoretical and practical training and aims to impart learners with a wide-ranging knowledge about various components of Airside operations, airfield inspections, markings, navigational aids, air traffic control, aircraft recognition, airport code apron management, hazard management.
The teaching method blends and couples classroom lectures with interactive multimedia lessons, group activities, onsite projects in the airport under the close guidance and supervision of industry experts. Such a learning combination would ensure that participants are well prepared for their future employment and career advancement in airport and aviation-related fields.

Pre-requisites:
To undertake this programme, learners would require a minimum English proficiency of Intermediate level.
Aims & Learning Objectives
- Gain an overview of the airside components, their associated functions and how they interrelate and fit into the entire gamut of airport operations.
- Understand various risks and hazards associated with aircraft ground operations and how to effectively manage and mitigate them.
- Understand and identify the reference codes for airport classification
- Understand about Airport layouts including runways, taxiways and apron.
Gain an overview about air traffic management, lighting, markings, navigational aids, surveillance facilities and security infrastructure implemented in airfields.
